Sponge Bob No Pants
Burger King has done it again. they have managed to totally creep me out with another commercial that makes me wonder "What were they thinking?"
File this under the category Spots That Make You Go Hmmmmm.
This spot begins with a kid running up to Mom announcing that Spongebob is now appearing at Burger King! Can we go? Of course, as soon as your dad is finished.
As soon as Dad is finished with what? Why taking a bath. In an overly large master bathroom. While Mom is tidying. With the door open.
This family apparently shares a lot, because Dad isn't afraid to stand up in the tub to joke to his wife that he's Spongebob No Pants - all while the bathroom door is standing wide open.
At least the King isn't peeping in the large bathroom window.
Boundaries, people - PLEASE.

I noticed that all the windows behind the tub were not covered. I would hope that the bathroom was not visible from the street or a neighbor's house, and that no one had to see Mr. No Pants - especially a rear view.
give me a break he is soooo covered with soap and it is toooooo funny........get a life people.....
First all its funny - its a "pun" a play on words. Secondly you must not have humor in your house....I would hat to think of the prudish, boring, and unhappy children you are raising. There is nothing dirty about that commercial at all, except your mind for perverting it. And hate to break it to you many people take showers and even pee in front of each other - its reality! And yes I am a Christian with morals and even a preacher's daughter! And a former Missionary kid.
I personally have no problem with the commercial had it been to advertise soap or bath product geared toward adults. However, I don't appreciate BK targeting my children with this crap! It's not humor at all, it's commercial crap. Immediately following the idiotic father a voice says "Spongebob fever is spreading". My children have watched and enjoyed Spongebob for quite awhile now, they don't need a naked idiot to advertise it to them. However, I don't feel BK is totally to blame. Nickoldeon is more at fault. They should not allow the rights to the name, character, or anything to dumbasses like BK. P.S. Humor can be had in so many otherways. Not allowing your children to watch a naked man pretend to be a a cartoon character does not make them prudes. Maybe you should be catholic, not christian. Then you also touch little boys!
The "ultra conservatives" take something completely innocent and twist it the bad way. The commercial isn't "perverse", your minds are "perverse" and it is your minds that have "perverted" it.
I think its sad that so many Christians have taken things this far and by their actions have turned off so many people to God. Believe me God has a sense of humor. Have you seen an emu, an elephant, a giraffe? God doesn't want us to live our lives unhappy and constantly seeking to point out the bad in things. The opposite - God wants us to live our life as an example of him and bring joy, laughter, happiness, and good as a light to others (without getting too religious here). When Jesus was on earth he was NOT constantly putting others down for what they believe. Rather he told people what he believed in a non-forceful manner by living it out in his everyday life.
I guess when your child passes gas and laughs that is bad too? being bathroom humor and all?
No not catholic, I was born and raised southern baptist and am a VERY strong believer. Unfortunately I think alot of Christians are giving "Christianity" a bad rep by making it an "over religious" and "rule abiding" thing like the Pharasees did in Jesus' time, rather than showing what a real relationship with God is about.
By the way - Nice Christian use of the word "dumba..." and "idiot" oh and "crap".
News Flash - Parents see each other naked! That's how they become parents!
It needs more desu. ですデスですですですですですですですですですですですですですですですですですです
To 'christian mom' - it's not about reliion - it's about proper behavior in front of young children.
The spot in questions has since been re-edited to remove the children. The spot now only features Mom & Dad.
Someone else must have noticed...
How is that improper behavior? 1.) They weren't in front of children in the commercial...the children ran out of the room
2.) its family....you must have a closed door policy in your family...ours is open.
3.) I'm done arguing with people who don't have a sense of humor.
How is it proper behavior for children to be in the same room when their father is bathing?
Boundaries, people. Boundaries.
Growing up as a missionary kid and traveling around the world you are exposed to many different cultures both in the United States and abroad. Funny you say it is improper when there are many families who can only afford a one room house. Its not like he was stark naked he was in a bathtub give me a break. They ran in to tell their mom something. I don't know if you have kids but if you ever do you will realize privacy is not an option for the bathroom any more. And they way you put it you must think everyone from poor families or other coutnries are "inproper". If you ask yourself What would Jesus do - I really don't think he'd have your attitude nor think the commercial were wrong. In Jesus' time people bathed together guess they were improper too? I take baths and showers with my daughter - am I improper? No I'm a mother.
Wow - you have Amish types who still watch TV in the states? Ooh, SATAN is in the TV projecting SpongeBob as a naked man. You yanks crack me up.
